Whimpy looking Loop 700

This rather large eye hole at the engine block coolant inlet...is this what is used with an engine hoist. Plan on doing my engine mounts and have access to a lift. Also for my manual transmission 89 745 can I just use an airwrench to turn the crankshaft bolt with out fear of damaging anything. And can I do same to tighten when I am done. What would be the torqe setting?? Tx db
