performance fans 1800

Allright, yet another question. I'm thinking about changing out the stock fan in my 1800s. And if I can find any positive opinions on that, I may give it a try. The theory behind it being more power at higher speeds, and better cooling at low... Has any one tried using any different fans, like a flex fan, etc... And if so, was there any obvious difference in performance?
