There is a big trend here. That is, GM products seem to have a horrible problem with the coolant of their own design. It seems primarily caused by air introduced into the cooling system where it should not be. Some GM engines (Blazer is one) had problems with the intake manifold gaskets leaking and allowing air into the system. And probably other places too.

I only am interested in this because it appears as if it causes problems in vehicles where the cooling system has issues, whether known to the owner or not.

Common sense says to avoid anything that could cause problems, but it doesn't mean that Dexcool is causing problems for everyone. I don't think that GM is the only manufacturer to be using long life coolant like that, although they seem to be the ones having the most problems with it.
