How does the speedometer sensor work? 700 1986

Nate -

Since I am a 240 guy, this is a little off my reservation. The electric speedo in the 240 has a pulse generated by a magnet on the ring gear and a sensor on the rear axle gear housing. The speedo has a device, sometimes called a motor, that reads the pulses into rotary motion which drives the speedo and odometer.


Best I can do, gotta scuury back to the reservation B4 a 700 guru catches me.
