Side trim removal on 240 wagon? 200 1986

hey guys, what do you think? the grey side trim on my brick is looking quite a bit weathered and i was wondering if it would be worth taking them off. Does anyone know how large of a hole the clips will leave in my doors? In the very near future I am thinking of doing some bodywork to my car, and while i'm at it I will probably tend to those holes, but until then, what do you guys think?
