I made the wooden hoist and drove the car up on ramps to do it . I didn't have to remove anything other than the splash pan to get at everything from a combination of above and below. The third nut below on the turbo side is 12mm.

You may need a different assortment of eyebolts/links then what's listed in the special tools FAQ. What was listed didn't work quite right for me.
