Doable? Maybe, but............ 200 1983

would take a lot of swapping and adjusting.

1983:
Engine: B23F engine, 1st year, went to 1984. (If n/a)
Parts: Used sometimes hard to find, e.g. ECU
Wiring Harness: Crumbling insulation.
FI System: Bosch LH 2.0
A/C compressor: York
Power steering: pump with integral reservoir mounted on top of the compressor. Method of adjusting the a/c drive belt: split pulley.
Rear fog lights: no wiring, no lights.
Timing belt change: No special tools required

1985:
Engine: B230F (1st year, went to 1993)
Parts: Quite common. B230 in 1985-93 240s, n/a 740 and 760.
Wiring Harness: Crumbling insulation until 1988.
FI System: Bosch LH 2.2
A/C compressor: Rotary, Diesel-Kiki, I think.
Power steering: pump mounted on top of the compressor, reservoir separate. Method of adjusting the a/c drive belt: two adjusters on a/c, hard to find.
Timing belt change: Special tools or rope trick required to hold crankshaft.

Well, there's probably more that don't come to mind just now. If you look at the two side by side, you should see how the engine bay layout may or may not have changed. Things like clearance in front of crankshaft pulley for one thing.

In your shoes I would probably go for it. Maybe other BBRD folks have more thoughts.

Good Luck,

Bob
