Checking spark 140-160 1973


You'll wanna keep that sparking spark plug away from
the open cylinder hole. I've usually just rested the
plug on the block.

If you haven't actually taken the distributor out to
check the points I'd do that. I've found that the
first second and third most common problem with these
cars is screwed up points. Non-bosch points don't
seem to last as long as the real thing. Also check
to make sure the plugs aren't fouled -- they can get
fouled to the point of not working in an hour if the
carbs aren't set right.
