Checking spark 140-160 1973

My 145 is turning over but refusing to catch. This came on suddenly.

There is fuel pressure at the carbs and plenty of air about. The points, plugs, rotor and cap are about five months old. Didn't see any condensation or corrosion. Cleaned the battery connections on general principle. No dice.

I need to check for spark. Planning on doing this by duct-taping a plug to a manifold and watching for a blue spark as my long-suffering wife hits the ignition. Is there a smarter way to go about this?

Gracias,

Steve M.
