Thanks Chris and Rob. You two are always there with solid advice. I'm pretty psyched about getting this baby home and doing triage. After any potentially stranding or running issues are dealt with I'm moving directly to suspension. I don't know what's been replaced and when just yet, Keystone Volvo in PA is mailing me the service history.
I was looking, in IPD's catalog, at the control arm brace you mentioned Rob and they also have a unit by Cherry Turbo that ties those two points together as well as tying them to what looks like the cross member under the trans. As part of a package they also sell CT's strut tower brace.
First thing I'll inspect though are suspension bushings, (control arm and radius arm) ball joints, tie rod ends etc. "No rust" is claimed but I'm sure if I look hard enough I'll find some to deal with under the car. Fifteen years in Pennsylvania must have exacted some toll.
I'll tell the tale of the 1000 mile winter trek home here when I retreive it.
Vanity plate? "Penta" of course. In the '70s we had a 21' Orlando Clipper while living in Panama. Powered by Volvo with an OMC stern drive.
Regards,
