Ok Christmas is over and I didn't get my wish. THe new wiring harness didn't solve the problem, although it really needed replaced, the engine is still running very rich and blowing black soot and smoke out the tail pipe. All 4 plugs are black and sooty. A compression check reveals an even 180 on all 4 cylinders so the engine itself is good. The engine idles and runs, doesn't miss fire or run particularly rough, just rich.
I have rechecked everything involved with the fuel system. Idle Valve, Throttle Position Switch/Sensor, Coolant Temperature Sensor, O2 Sensor, Air Mass Meter, Injectors. I also checked the timing and advance and those are normal.
About the only thing left is the ECU. Is there a way to verify if it is the culprit? Is there a schematic that I can use to check proper input and outputs from the ECU?
Any other ideas?
