Can you support that??

Allan,

Can you point to any scientific data that support that?

If an engine is running properly (not overly rich or lean), and with a properly operating AMM, O2 sensor, injectors, fuel pressure regulator and spark plugs - that is, it's burning gasoline with complete combustion, I can't see how idling would be bad for the catalytic converter. In fact, I would say that the cat would have very little to do as the products of complete combustion are largely carbon dioxide and water.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken on this, or have overlooked something obvious...

Regards,

TomD
