differnce between 87 and later B280s?

I am the "proud" owner of a 1989 760 fitted with a B280F engine.

My logic is that a B280 engine is a B280 engine, regaurdless of year. When reading about the B280 engine, note that it was only placed in the 760 GLE, which was partially redesigned for the 1988 model year. It would be easy for anyone to look at a 1986 and 1988 760 GLE and think the engine was part of the overhaul.

The Haynes manual that covers the 1982-1988 740-760 (Although they don't really include the 1988 760) does have a section discussing the B280 engine, and it appears to be the same in my car. This book also explains in detail how to change the european headlights to Americans.

Final word: Logic would dictate the engine did not change the first year of production- It would make a mechanic's job signifigantly harder. Hell, they didn't fix the problems with the B27 engine until the B280 if that helps any. The french should stick to surrenderring... They're good at it.

What I wanna know is can I cram a B280 in a DMC-12.
