DIY windshield swap

It can be done.

You can use welding wire (works well) to get it out of the car. The job is a pain in the ass as far as I'm concerned.

For $130, it isn't worth having to deal with that nasty goop to seal the new one in. Or the mess of taking the old one out. But if you just MUST try it yourself, make sure you have a piece of glass that is a fresh removal from a car, not one that's been lying around for a while. As most people know, windshield glass is flexible (to an extent) and after a while lying around, it can get flat spots or misshapen. I just chucked a 240 windshield I had sitting around, because of that.
