There is something to be said for removing everything but the wire harnesses. I had to do the same for the vacuum motor for the vents. It feels great to have it done and working. If I had to do it again though I would think twice. It seems every time I am tearing down something like this, a clip breaks here and there, one or two get lost somewhere in the dash.
