Dash removal help 200

Well I'm in the middle of the dreaded blower motor replacement.
I have the dash completely freed up, except for the piece of metal that goes under the steering column. Does that piece detach from the upper dash? or do I have to remove the wheel to get the dash completely out? If anyone has any tips on how that piece is removed I'd appreciate it. I was able to find 3 screws that seemed to go up into the dash pad, but they didn't seem to help when removed. Are there more screws?
Brian
