glue versus $300.

No, I'm checking in on the debate lol!!!. I paid $600 for the car, although it is a fine specimen. $300 is way out of line for the part, I think. I would definately opt for a fix that would last a few years, and maybe as long as I own the car. I wish I could put a new one in but I think I'll opt for a fix or a junkyard replacement which may also be bad. I really just need to pull it out and inspect it and test it so I know the replacement is working properly before I put it back in. I think both approaches are viable, It just depends on your particular situation. thanks. You know someone said that you could prise apart the cylinder and fix the resistor strip if you knew what you were doing.
