Intermitent cold start problem ('85 244 Turbo)

Hey,

Clean the throttle body. Then go under the intake mani. and clean the IAC (idle air control), muck builds up in there and causes it to act erratically. A good test is to, while the car is idling as well as it can, give it a sharp whack with the handle of a screw driver this will free the little motor and it will change how much air is being introduced into the intake mani. The IAC is a cylyndrical unit with the two large hoses going to it. Take it out and clean it, fill it with card cleaner, cover the holes and repeat until the carb cleaner is clear.

Josh
