Hello fellow board members,
For those of you who followed a thread a little while ago - I was ranting about the cost (ie 10-15 bucks for each one) of the stupid dash indicator lights with built in plastic sockets.
I have found a replacement bulb. It comes in a 2 pack and is made by GC Electronics - Part # ML2182. T-1 3/4 Wire Terminal (14volt, 0.08Amps)-Indicator Lamp.
To repair: you must remove/crush the old bulb from the holder and then fit these replacement lights into the empty socket (luckily the wire leads are thin) and solder the leads into place. Voila, you have the original socket with a new bulb!!
GREG SHUTT, if you are out there, these lights will work on the A/C light panel as well. You just have to unwind the old bulb and then rewind the new leads of the replacement bulb onto the base (these bulbs are a little dimmer than the originals).
Good luck and hopefully this puts an end to getting screwed over. Just my 2 cents.
Tim.
