Complex problem..... 700 1988

Hey all :)
Had a long break from here!
Anyway, i've got a problem, it's happend in the past, typically on hot days only, VERY hot, as in 30 degree's + long drives....
Under full throttle acceleration in 1st, 2nd or 3rd (manual) i get a really hard jerk, at about 1700rpm and again about 3000ish+ rpm... generally only happens twice between 1000 and 6000.... Only when the car is further than half throttle..... Now, when this happens, my fuel/air mixture (that i added) drops to "L" meaning no fuel, basically.... whenever the car jerks.... if you do it in first gear it really throws you around the car fully starts decellerating then suddenly picks up again.....
Now, when this happens, and i pull over, i can hear under my car a "rattling" noise that sounds just like a ball bearing rattling in a metal housing... RIGHT near the fuel pump... i mean, it's REALLY rattly, i can hear it from 5m from the car easily...... I'm wondering if this (i think it might be the check valve) is the problem, or if it is the fuel pump (main one) not supplying enough pressure under load, as in, high heat, etc...? Anyone help at all?
THanks
Aaorn
