"Light on, no OD home. Will not go out..."

In an automatic, the OD light on means that the OD has been disabled. The light off means that OD is permitted to engage when the conditions are right.

If the light stays on, it almost always means that either the relay is bad (resolder it -- need instructions?) or that the wiring to the pushbutton is shorted -- or that the pushbutton itself has failed.
