Curing wind and road noise 200 1987

Is this a good way to reduce/eliminate wind and road noise?

1. Check door rubber seals (the black seal that goes around all the doors) for deterioration.

2. Brown Bread Sound Deadener the hood, under the carpet, trunk and all four doors.

I am not asking for a Lexus ride but I want to cut the amount of road and wind noise I hear now, I suspect the majority of it comes from the doors, the rain gutters, and the great aerodynamic shape of the 240. BTW, if my rubber door seals are bad do I have to get Genuine Volvo parts to fix them, (cost :( ) or can I just use some kind of aftermarket part? Thanks.
