Sunroof problems 700 1987

All,

My damn sunroof is stuck closed. It wasn't shutting properly so I went to the FAQ and tried those methods. In the process I got the roof shut and at ann angle, the up in back opening was half working. I then proceeded to break the crank mechanism. I am going junkyarding this weekend.
I can't move it at all, except to crank up one corner in back. Can this be fixed or should I leave well (bad) enough alone.
