Considering a (used) Volvo...

Be careful out there! I've owned two Volvos: one that was maintained properly and which I am currently still driving, and I love it! And one that
wasn't maintained and I had to spend a small fortune on it to bring it up
to speed, while trying to replace and repair all the many components that
were disintegrating.
Volvos are wonderful cars with a minimum of common sense maintenance and repairs but they also suffer from the "bullet proof" reputation, which
translated (IMO) means that people buy them, abuse the heck out of them
and then get rid of them as they're falling apart. I can't begin to tell
you how many I've looked at in Texas that are literally falling apart from
neglect. So choose carefully. And do your maintenance, and your car will
probably outlast many other things in your life. It will be there as
always. That's what makes Volvo the only choice. HT
