'Frumpy'? 200 1987

Gee, I'd consider a 245 "sporty"!

Mine's driving a 1988 Mercury Colony Park, which is much much further along on the "frumpy" spectrum than a Volvo 245. The AC is barely functional, but it doesn't seem bother her. In fact, nothing much does. She genuinely seems to LIKE it! She just rolls down all 5 windows and puts a "Beach Boys" tape in the stereo. That it's a "woody" (OK a "plastic woody") and we live at the shore probably covers for a multitude of sins.

"That's why mine went off to Syracuse in a 245."

Mine's going off to Poughkeepsie with Amtrak, carless. Since it's a straight Amtrak shot from Poughkeepsie into Penn Station, a walk across the platform, and then a straight shot from Penn Station to Long Branch, where the North Jersey Coast Line overhead wires end, I think it will be difficult for her to get lost. Or oversleep her station. Not that the thought of driving a 14 year old boat with 180,000 miles through NYC traffic bothered me. We'll "drive and drop" to get her back up there.

BTW, Don, what is an English Professor doing with an electron microscope? http://www.courttv.com/assault_on_america/1109_sleuth_ap.html
