THANKS so much for your analysis, Chris. I will drive the car until this summer when I will have some free time to pull the head, have it redone by a reputable machine shop, replace it and NOT WORRY.
By the way, sharing your kindness and knowledge is what the Brickboard seems to be about. I really appreciate it ( and so do other Volvo nuts reading this).
