knock knock, does the cam want out?? 700

ive got an 85 765 turbo....i bought the car at 169,000, and it had some valve noise, so i got the valves adjusted..every now and then i would here one lifter make noise, like a bad silence seal...so at 175,000 i pulled the head, did a valve job, put in new lifters and an IPD VX cam...its been about 10,000 miles since then and i have the same problem...and now it seemes to be there more than not...i talked to the volvo shop down the street from mine, and they said some of the motors just do that...if the valves are slightly tight, could that be a problem, (i know i dont want tight valves)..i also cannot get the valve cover to stop leaking..i even pulled off the end caps on the cam and put new sealer on them...any knowledge is appreciated
