Volvo 960 Front Strut Replacement 900 1995

My 95 960 is "kissing" the 100,000 mile mark. The original struts are
on the car. Yes, I can notice some compromise in handling. Should
these be replaced now, and if so, any recommendations. Generally, I
stick with OEM parts but I would like to know if there are other options.
Price IS an object :-).
