700 MOTOR MOUNTS

Check clearance between oil pan and frame cross member. If it's starting to rub, time for new mounts. Another indicator is the clearance between the fan
blades and the bottom of the fan shroud. I couldn't even get one of
my fat fingers in there any more. (Even after putting in new mounts, the
fan ended up below center in the shroud.) I think what happens
is that they don't actually leak, but just smoosh-out from the weight of
the engine. It's not too terrible of a job to replace those things,
and took about an hour and a half. I'm no ace mechanic either. I did
have the help of a pneumatic ratchet, but it certainly isn't
necessary. What is a help though, is to have about 18" worth of socket
extension to give yourself some "RTR". (Room to ratchet)

Mark, check your e-mail. I'll send you a long, boring procedure.
