Interesting Persective on Changing Transmission Fluid

In today's local paper under the Auto Plus section I found a differing opinion than what I have read before on the BB regarding changing transmission fluid. Someone wrote into Bob Sikorsky's "Drive It Forever" column asking wether it was advisable to change the tranny fluid on a car with over 100k. He replied that assuming the car had never had it done before, changing the tranny fluid would cause all the old seals to leak. This would be because the new fluid would attack the "false seals"(old dirt and grime) and leak past them. He also stated that replacing the seals is a costly endeavor. This caught my eye because I was planning on changing the fluid in my m47 shortly using Redline products with the overfill method. I have read several times on the BB that the m47's usually have to be rebuilt around 150k. Mine is now at 174k so I want to do all the preventitive maintnence I can to keep from having it rebuilt. What should I do? I am a senior in high school so I don't have money to put into seals or a rebuild. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
