B18 engine compression 120-130

I agree with Phred - 175 sounds pretty high for an engine that old,
but assuming that comp is OK (and I have run engines with comp as low
as 60 psi)things you will want to check include oil pressure and valve
lift. Timing gears eventually fail unless both are metal, which means
that someone put metal gears in it sometime.

If I were you I would look for a B20 - bolts in the same, MANY parts
interchangeable, more power and not as old. If you can find a B20E
or B20F, so much the better; get some 7/8" soft plugs and plug the
injector ports.
