windshield help 200 1980

my 1980 240 DL needs a new wind shield and it just so happens that the local import graveyard has one that will work. has anyone ever replaced one with success...if so is it a big deal or should i save this duty for my local expert. if you had not guessed, money is an issue and i'm trying to save a buck or two. any tips would be great
