Pay attention to the washer stacks and which are in front. There is a difference (at least on a '93).

Make sure you have some duct seal or some other suitable kind of sealant available for the hinges seating surface when you put it back together.

Mark the outline of the hinges in grease pencil or masking tape. Makes it easier to realign when putting back on.

You can loosen the bolts before you open the tailgate. Makes it a little easier. Then prop it open and remove hydraulic lifts. Tailgate weighs about 75 pounds.

If your harnesses are iffy, good time to fix. Also, inspect the grounding strap inside of the hinges. Fix or make an alternate repair. If these grounding straps break, weird electrical things will happen with the tailgate.
