thanks for the info on the Dana 30 and Powertrax. According to their website
information at Powertrax.com, they are now offering a new product which is
similar in design to one of their older products, which they refer to as a
locker. This new product is claimed to be a true limited slip by virtue of
springs that keep the differential open except when wheelspin occurs on one
side. Do you think these claims could be true? If you're interested, you
might want to visit their website and take a look. I'd certainly appreciate
your opinion on this new unit.
If this unit is not a good choice, what might be other sources of information
that I might access to learn about my other choices? For reference, my Volvo
has been converted to a 5.0 Mustang HO engine and AOD automatic transmission,
while retaining the stock Volvo rear end. I get a lot of wheelspin with
aggressive throttle, and hence the interest in the limited slip.
