760 or 740

There are two choices I have on which volvo I could get. The first is a 90 760turbo with 123k for $2100, which was just dropped from $3500; or there is an 88 740 turbo with 93k with no set price, The guy working there said they would probably take the best offer. Would either of these be better than the other in any way? Im also a young driver and this would be my first car. Thanks
