Hello and help!
I found this board while looking for information about fixing my Volvo--I am the proud owner of a 1973 164E (6 cyl, fuel-injected, auto. transmission) affectionately known as "Das Clunker".
Lately, it's been cutting out intermittently. As soon as the engine warms up, it quits--no sputtering, no warning lights--it just goes dead, and won't start again until it's absolutely cold. Sometimes I make it all the way to work, sometimes I don't make it to the end of the street. :( It may be the old fuel injection system, but it also could be the ignition, something electrical.
I'm not sure what's wrong, and neither does my mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas?
Karen :)
