The saga continues:
I got a belt that goes from the power steering to crank pulley
and put it on while I was installing the new front crank vibration
damper thingy.
Now, sometimes when I come to a stop after revving the motor,
the car will stall out. When I did not have the power steering
hooked up, the car never stalled like this.
The car has the same fluid in the power steering pump as when I
got it. How would I drain and replace this fluid? What sort of
juice should I use?
Could it be stalling because the timing was way off from when I
set it with the semi-broken timing gear and broken vibration
damper?
Lastly, about setting the timing -- since I replaced the stromburgs
with SUs, the advance mechanism doesn't have a place to attach one
of the vacuum hoses. There were two on my distributor -- one to the
rear carburator and one to the intake manifold. I leave the one
that went to the carburator hanging over the valve cover and the
other attached to the intake manifold.
