Ive fixed several with J.B.WELD the trick is to scratch up the glass and metal parts with coarse sand paper and to clean parts with alcohol.
be sure that youve got them in the correct position and index the inside latch.somehow so that it clicks at the right spot.
did my 145 front and rear vents 14 yrs.ago and still intact.
suggest you mark the spots and then remove vent from auto.
For the latches I ended up chipping the stock latches off as they still whistled and replaced with IPD part#cq9b6001.
they are a little trickier but they really pull the vent SHUT.
