Re: a Volvo tool for the spare wheel?

John,

I store my 245 DL's jack in the spare compartment. I lower it so it will fit side ways between the spare tire and the inside(cargo side)wall of the tire well. This with the hook facing the tire and the jack base facing the well wall. Then I carefully extend the jack by turning the screw with my fingers, until it's wedged between the tire and the side of the storage well. Locks everthing in nicely ... no rattling jack. I store the jack extension handle in the shallow center storage bin. Don't over extend the jack, as even turning it by hand can distort metal. Just tight enough so it's snug and locked in place. There may be better ways of storing the jack but this has worked well for me over the 14 years I've owned the 86 wagon.
