Well, for what it's worth, I used a screwdriver for five or six years and popped off the throttle linkage on my 87 760T without unclipping those clips...it eventually cracked the socket on the linkage. Cost about $20 to replace the parts and readjust the linkage, so now I know where those clips are.

The wiring to the tb is integrated in a plug...there is a wire bail on the plug that you squeeze onto the plug to release the plug.
