In addition to suspicious plug wires, how old is your distributor cap? Last Thursday, I replaced my thermostat and spilled some coolant on the driver's side of the motor. I got out the hose and gently rinsed things off. Started the motor up and let it idle for 5 minutes and shut it down. Then, 20 minutes later, I needed to go somewhere and it wouldn't start. I finally pulled the cap off and it was soaking wet in there. I was astounded how much of the little bit of water that I used ended up inside the cap. Obviously, it's time to replace it.
During the chilly nights of autumn, condensation of water vapor yields a lot of liquid in odd places.
