I'll agree with Jerry — I have Yokohama Avid H4's on my '86 245, and absolutely love 'em. On my '91 740, I have D60A2's and I'm happy with them, but do feel they're a tad harsh and a bit noisy. Next time it's Yokos (from Tire Rack).

Personally, I'm not a Michelin fan. The times I've tried them (admittedly years ago) I found they started hydroplaning when the weatherman said, "Chance of clouds tomorrow..." But I expect newer design are better, though expensive (gotta pay for that advertising...).

Tire wisdom is like discussing religion, beer, politics. True knowledge floats around in the fog—just outta sight and just outta reach.
