impacts sockets on this job are a no no as they are thick for clearance

i normally use only 3/8 deep thin wall sockets and never have had a problem

i would add one tip. use a hefty 1/2 drive ratchet connected to the 3/8 extensions and socket with an adapter. you will get much more comfortable and effective twisting torque than you would with a 3/8 ratchet
