If you take it to a mechanic, insist on replacing the fuel pump relay before any other repairs are done. They are notoriously fickle in 240's.

Quick story: My fuel pump relay gave me no trouble in the 11 years I owned my 240. When I put the car up for sale the relay, of course, decided to go south...:)
