Yes, it's about that easy. But get a new rubber grommet along with the switch.

Consider getting one of those little infrared temperature sensors, such as this one:

http://www.harborfreight.com/infrared-thermometer-93984.html

They are relatively cheap and can tell you if you really have a temperature problem. And they have plenty more uses than around cars.
