And Now it's the Dash Lights... 700

Hello,

I've changed to LED dash lights using this IPD kit for my 940:

www.ipdusa.com/products/8884/120162-led-dash-illumination-kit

But before you order the kit make sure you dismantle the dashboard and have a look at the type of bulbs used inside the dashboard. My dashboard uses four 3watts slotted big bulbs and one 1.2watts 'grain sized' bulb. So these suited the IPD kit nicely.

I've installed the two extra 'grain sized' bulbs from the kit into my A/C console. But these require additional soldering job as these bulbs are totally different than those inside the console.

If the lights doesn't work just install it the other way around as these LEDs have polarity. Make sure these lights are working before you put the dashboard back. The bulbs may need some little maneuvering to be inserted into the dashboard. IPD states that this kit is for 850 series but as long as the bulb types match they can be fitted.

Overall the dash lighting becomes a bit bluish because of the blue filter used inside the dash to balance out the conventional yellow lights.

Can't comment much on the high beam/turn signal issue as I have not experienced it. But from the looks of it I think that multi-function stalk switch needs to be cleaned. I suggest take it out of the steering column and spray some electronics parts cleaner into it without dismantling it open (as it does contain some small springs that might just fly out).

Regards,
Amarin.
