The sound developed rather gradually starting from light grinding sometimes resembling a water flow through a pipeline. It seemed fading away with the engine warming up. Then after a start in the cold heard a wild squeak and the engine didn't run smoothly since then, warm or cold. The crackling has aggravated.
I checked the timing area a couple of miles ago, nothing suspicious was found.
Read it's too soon for the water pump to end its life. However i've already ordered a timing kit, but guess a new starter is gonna be on its way also. Is a genuine part a must or there are good aftermarket alternatives?
