Check for good grounds near the ABS, there might even be on at the base of its mount - there was one there on my '90 744 TI.

Also check for the headlight grounds.

On my 744, the engine died when I used the high beams.

Its in the 700/900 FAQ.

BTW - It is worth looking at that FAQ as many things are similar to your car. If you haven't read it you will be pleasantly surprised by how much info is there.

Check any grounds you can find, including possibly two ground straps to your engine.

The ground wires that you find apply to things surrounded by plastic, like the headlights - anything that does not have a ground wire is grounded by its attachment - clean that.
