The key being on does not run the pumps.
It has to be cranking first to close the relay to run the pumps. The crank sensor has that duty. It tell the ECU to close the relay. Does it start up quickly with just a twist of the key?
While at the flame trap site you can find out to run the pumps all by themselves using the fuse panel. Things are much more quieter that way!
If you find that you have no fuel issue "be suspicious" of the AMM. If it starts up fine, idles good but does it shuffles and stutters and acts like its coming up on a cam in the power band when it finally gets its act together?
Sometimes they start failing when their mixture range becomes unstable and twists up its output to the ECU! Then the jerky ride starts!
Just be suspicious, there can be other things.
Like a bad the crank sensor or engine coolant sensor and of course there is the infamous flaky/tired/old components in the ignition system trick!
