When I pull on the drive shaft near the tranny there is noticeable play where the splines go into the tail. A little oil around the lip of the seal.
When I pull down on the shaft rear of the rubber donut, there is a lot of play at the donut, such that you can hear clearly "bump" "bump" against the plate(I guess thats what Im hearing inside the car). Theres also loseness in the front u-joint. The rear u-joint seems tight. The tranny mount seems ok to me, ditto the motor mounts.

Still a mystery to me is why this occured relatively quickly. Left the house for a approx 8 mile round trip. When I left there was a slight rumbling(which Ive been hearing for a good while). When I got home, pulling into the driveway it sounded really loud and noticeable.

Exhaust system secure in place.

Im thinking a complete driveshaft rebuild and new tailshaft bushing and seal should set things right.
